The player is only able to begin the mission in earnest by 1) visiting a Space Anomaly and asking Polo to point the player toward an Atlas Station, or 2) accidentally warping into a system with an Atlas Station. With completely new i mean for example plants i cant compare to anything i saw before on other planets, not just simple re-skined versions of other plants. The player begins The Atlas Path immediately after the end of Awakenings, but the mission has no objective at first. It has nothing to do with luck and everything to do with limited assets to mix. The number of near identical creatures I've discovered is staggering. I've seen tons of planets and while there might still be a set of animal feet or a couple of heads I haven't seen yet the overall patterns is that it's abundantly clear that the pool of pre-modeled assets that gets randomly mixed and matched is very, VERY small for a game that touts incredible diversity. What's "COMPLETELY new" to you, might just be "same old rehashed stuff to me". In many ways, not least in terms of story, it is - however there. All this may have made it sounds like following the Atlas Path is a rather fruitless endeavour.
